Visiting the Philippines is so much fun! With its perfect beaches, fantastic views, rich culture, and the Filipinos’ warm and eclectic personality, any tourist would be enticed to come and stay for days, even months.
However, it is not the case for a Japanese citizen who comes to the Philippines every now and then. As per KAMI, he’s not here to enjoy but to feed and help the poor and the homeless.
Takashi Castillo who hails from Shibuya, Tokyo posted on his Facebook account a series of photos of him with different homeless Filipinos on the streets. The caption reads:
“Please be patience until i succeed.
Whatever happens, I want to help Homeless and I want to change the Philippines.
But dont forget!
Eating is a privilege for those who work.
I like people who strive
Think about people who cannot eat everyday. You have to thank to food.
Thou shouldst eat to live not live to eat.”
Netizens couldn’t help but admire his good heart and kindness.
僕の弟と家族が住む島だ。必ずよくしてやる。そして食べ物を粗末にする奴は許さない。Please be patience until i succeed.Whatever happens, I want to help Homeless…
Given the wonderful places and sites in the Philippines, these photos ironically expose the opposite — a sight the country has been battling for years, yet are still very apparent.
Witnessing the homeless people with their small boys and girls retire for the night sleeping on the streets with only cartons and plastics as their sheets and blankets is so heart breaking; that’s why it’s very nice to know that there are still good Samaritans out there who extend their care and support to the needy.
Thank you for the expression of love, Takashi! We support and salute you, Sir!
