Kimberly Nuestro, 16, from a Fil-Am family in California died May 7 from a medical condition after collapsing at a basketball game the day before. Her father, Ramir Nuestro, took to Facebook in an effort to fulfill his daughter’s dream — have Stephen Curry sign her shoes.

The Golden State Warriors superstar was Kimberly’s favorite basketball player, and they even shared the same jersey number ’30.’

The Homestead High School, where Kimberly studied as a sophomore, is currently commemorating her memory.

Kimberly is the captain of the Junior Varsity Basketball team of their school.

According to the high school’s newspaper, Kimberly’s father, Ramir, brought a pair of shoes to the Warriors training facility where Curry signed them and agreed for an interview with the school’s newspaper, comforting the grieving family.

“I wish I could have met (Kimberly) before she passed,” Curry said. “But this is a small token for her family, to know that there’s a lot of people thinking about them and to hopefully honor her life with those shoes.”

He said: “This is obviously an unfortunate situation for her family. I heard her story, how much she loved basketball, how much she loved watching us play. For her family to have the support of your school, of the community around her but also from the Warriors organization to hopefully give them some support and to hopefully get through this situation as best they can. That’s really all you can do.”

“Basketball’s been obviously a huge part of my life and I know for Kimberly she was so passionate about it. And to know that so many people loved her and honor her name with the Warrior logo and colors and everything at school means a lot. I hope her family can get through this as best they can and they have support from everybody around them.”

This is a loving father’s farewell gift to his daughter, and we’re all at least sure that it could have been her dying wish.

His efforts weren’t wasted after Curry sympathetically signed not only Kimberly’s shoes, but also her other basketball gear.

According to FHM, the Nuestro family plans to bury the signed basketball gear with Kimberly.

The father thanked all those that helped their family in their mission:

Thank you Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors for helping make Kim's one wish come true. #signforkim Special…
