ABS-CBN reporter Ciara Zambrano has revealed the truth behind her viral “short-lived romance” with a soldier she met during her coverage in Marawi City.
On Facebook, Zambrano shared one of the articles about the viral story of her and a certain Tsg Dinglasan; clarifying that they never had any romantic relationship.
“What in the world is this?” she began her post.
“Lilinawin ko lang po, sa mga hindi nakaunawa sa punto ng post ko…. Ang post ay simpleng kuwento lang ng isang mabilisang engkwentro sa isang mapagbirong sundalo. Sa mga hindi po nakaintindi, uulitin ko po: joke lang ang hirit ni Tsg Dinglasan, para mapatawa ang kanyang mga kasama. Joke lang din ang sagot ko, para mapatawa silang lahat,” she explained.
[Let me just make it clear, for those who did not get the point of my post…. The post is a simple narration of my short encounter with a humorous soldier. For those who did not understand me, let me repeat, Tsg Dinglasan’s statement was a joke, to make his colleagues laugh. My response to him was also a joke, to make them laugh also.]
Earlier, a number of articles about Zambrano and Dinglasan’s “love story” have been circulating online. These articles quoted the reporter’s Facebook post saying that Dinglasan told her that he will court her when he returns; and, in response, she told him that he has to return alive first and then they will talk about it.
Dinglasan, on the other hand, never returned. He was the lone fatality after the military encounter that day.
But despite being heartbroken over the death of a good soldier, Zambrano clarified that their story was never a love story.
“Please be more discerning. To the writers of these travesties, those who pick things up online and twist them in malicious ways, please stop. Not here. Not at this time. Not in this war. Tsg Dinglasan’s family is grieving. Let’s help them, and not give them more problems,” she further expressed.
