A Math teacher at a North Carolina public charter school has been arrested on suspicion of carrying on sexual relationships with three of her male students.
Following a month-long investigation into alleged misconduct with teenage boys away from the school, the 25-year-old teacher was arrested after colleagues and pupils at Rocky Mount Preparatory were interviewed in a month-long probe.
Police said the math tutor is alleged to have had sex with three teenage boys, two aged 17 and a 16-year-old, away from school.
Aside from three three counts of sexuality activity with students, she is also to face a charge of indecent liberties with a minor.
She has been sacked from the school where she had worked since last August.
Her bosses said: “We have been fully cooperative with local law enforcement during the course of their handling of this matter.”
McAuliffe is being held at Carteret County Jail after she was taken into custody on Thursday. She was ordered held in the County Jail on $20,000 bond pending her first court appearance scheduled for Monday.
According to McAuliffe’s LinkedIn profile, she graduated from Methodist University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. Her social media posts suggest that she is not married and lives in Rocky Mount with a dog and a cat.
