MANILA – A police officer died after he was gunned down by an unknown person in Caloocan City on Tuesday morning.
The victim was identified as PO2 Froilan Deocaris of Northern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit.
As per investigation, Deocaris was about to mount his motorcycle in front of the NPD station when he was suddenly shot. The suspect immediately ran away.
The cop was rushed to Tondo General Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival due to a gunshot wound at the mouth area.
According to the victim’s wife Jona, around 7 pm the night before her husband was killed, he shared a story to her about an upcoming operation.
The ‘operation’ of her husband targets a “ninja police” from Malabon.
Aside from his wife, officer Deocaris left his two children aged 12 and 9 years old.
The authorities are conducting further investigations over the case.
