And we are down to two.

San Miguel Beermen and TNT KaTropa will battle it out in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

The ticket for a spot in the Commissioner’s has been a long time coming for SMB as the decorated ball club of the San Miguel Corporation haven’t been in the Commissioner’s cup finals since 2001. If they win this mid season conference, the Beermen will be much closer to its quest of a grand slam; a feat the team achieved in 1989 led by PBA all-time greats Ramon Fernandez, Ricky Brown, Samboy Lim and Hector Calma.

Meanwhile, TNT wants to avenge a championship series loss to the Beermen that foiled their grand slam bid  in 2011.

The coaches, however, are convinced SMB is the wise bet in this title playoff; pointing to the import problem of TNT as a key factor as the situation of reinforcement Joshua Smith still is uncertain.

So TNT KaTropa asks the services of Michael Craig who is set to arrive in the country on Tuesday to give himself time to get accustomed to the playing style of TNT.

Game 1 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Final will be on Wednesday, June 21 7 p.m. at Araneta Coliseum.
