Johor, Malaysia  –  A video of a cobra invading a house in Batu Pahat, Johor which was posted on social media generated over 4 million views and was shared over 2,700 times.

The video was taken and posted by Derrick YiFan on his Facebook account which showed that a snake emerge from a shoe box right outside his house at about 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

He said he heard something and saw the giant snake.

The snake was adamant to enter the house as seen on the video. After several tries to find a hole, the snake finally slipped into the house via a small opening in their front door but after he went in, YiFan could not find the snake and it was believed it exited the house through open windows or backdoor.

Firefighters were also deployed to locate the snake but could not find it.

Fortunately there was no one in the house at that time.

The king cobra is a species of venomous snake in the family Elapidae and is distributed across the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and the southern areas of East Asia (where it is not common), in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and southern China.
