MANILA, Philippines  –  After being tagged as a scammer by model Dewanie Catapang, controversial businessman Xian Gaza also drew flak from actress Ella Cruz’s mother who said he was just an attention-hungry swindler.

In a series of scathing posts in her Facebook account, Jesica Cruz denied that he and her daughter ever became an item as his social media posts would suggest; saying he instead stalked her.

“Nag-stalk na ‘yan kay ella kaya i know d guy,” she wrote in reply to one of the comments in her post.

[He has stalked Ella so I know the guy.]

Cruz reiterated what she said in an interview with PEP.

“Mahilig manggamit ng artista,” she said. “Kay Ella, wala naman siyang atraso, naging feeling lang siya.”

[He likes using artists. Towards Ella, he didn’t do anything inappropriate, he just developed a feeling that they were in a relationship.]

Cruz also claimed that aside from obsessing over her daughter, Gaza had personally victimized their family last December 2016 when he bought a car from their buy-and-sell business with a post-dated check that turned out to have no funds.

According to Cruz, Gaza told her husband several times not to encash the check  as he would just pay for the vehicle in cash.

“Hindi pala napasok ni Papi ‘yung tseke niya kasi pinapa-hold daw lagi at ika-cash na lang,” she said. “After New Year, nag-ask ulit kami kung may fund na ‘yung cheke. Ginagawan daw niya ng paraan kasi he’s having a financial problem, at andun nga daw siya sa dad niya para umutang.”

[Papi did not encash the check because he was told to hold it and was offered cash instead. After New Year, we again asked if the check now had funds. He said he’s looking for a solution because he’s having a financial problem, and he was at his father’s to get a loan.]

Eventually, Cruz said Gaza returned the car after they told him to just bring it back to avoid aggravating the problem.

Cruz added that while Gaza may be enjoying the attention now, his real colors will come out sooner or later.

“Akala niya siguro walang lalabas na baho niya,” she said.

[He thought perhaps that his indiscretions would not be revealed.]
