A catholic priest was nabbed after trafficking with alleged ‘sexual intentions’ to a female minor at a hotel in Marikina City.

Msgr. Arnel Fuentes Lagarejos, 55, was about to check-in at a hotel, but was arrested in a joint entrapment operation by the police and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)

According to a report by Eastern Police District, the ‘monsignor’ negotiated through social media with a pimp (bugaw) who is another minor to get his desired 13-year-old girl.

Lagarejos and the minors agreed to meet-up at Blue Wave Mall in Sumulong Highway, Barangay Sto. Nino, Marikina City. But the 13-year-old’s mother told the cops; hence, the entrapment operation was planned.

Lagarejos was riding a Ford Explorer with plate number TGO 350 on his way to the hotel when he was caught by the cops around 6:30pm, Friday.

To their surprise, Lagarejos allegedly tried to draw a gun when he was being apprehended, but the cops acted fast enough to stop him.

The police explained that the group of ‘pimps’ was their initial target, but they became more interested and shocked to know that a priest was involved.

According to ABS-CBN, Lagarejos is assigned in Marikina City, and is a president of a catholic school at Rizal, bountiful of minors.

The Inquirer also reported that Lagarejos claims in his professional LinkedIn account that he holds a Doctorate degree in Moral Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

Lagarejos is to face charges involving child abuse and trafficking in persons act.

The 13-year-old and the pimp (who was aforementioned a minor too) is now under the custody of the DSWD.
