Baylor University School of Music Men’s Choir performed Ryan Cayabyab iconic song, “Da Coconut Nut” on their flight home from Kenya.
The men’s choir gave an impromptu performance of the song which was composed by the Filipino musician and songwriter while they were on an Emirates flight. The 75 members of the Baylor University School of Music Men’s choir sang and danced on the rows in the duration of the flight.
The hit song was made famous by Smokey Mountain; a Ryan Cayabyab-instituted group. The song was a hit in the 1990’s but the US choir gave their own flavor to the song that was performed by different choirs around the world.
The trending video was published by Emirates on their official Facebook page and has garnered over 10.5 million views, 98,000 shares and over 200,000 likes. In the caption of the video below, Emirates said that the performance was the US choir’s way of saying “Thank you” for the service of their crew. Watch the video here:
