- NBI-6 agents conducted an ocular visit to Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog’s house
- The visit came after President Duterte ordered a lifestyle check on the mayor
- Mayor Mabilog is included in President Duterte’s list of narco-politicians
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation in Region 6 (NBI-6) conducted an ocular inspection of Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrcik Mabilog’s house. President Rodrigo Duterte described the house as “like a palace.”
The inspection was made following President Duterte’s directive to conduct a lifestyle check on the mayor whom the President accused of being a protector of drug dealers in Iloilo.
As per the Inquirer, four NBI-6 agents arrived at Mabilog’s three-storey house at around 2:30 in the afternoon on Thursday, August 31, and left an hour later after conducting an ocular inspection. The mayor was not present as he is currently in Japan for a forum, according to his spokesperson, Atty. Mark Piad.
Aty. Piad said Mayor Mabilog welcomes the lifestyle check on him ordered by President Duterte as this would give him an opportunity to show the house to the public and answer speculations. The mayor is also willing to submit documents pertaining to his residence.
