- Presidential spokesperson said president has own game plan in dealing with senator
- He urged public to see the whole picture, said Duterte has his own sources
- He also said president has been transparent with his actions
MANILA, Philippines – Trust his game plan.
Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella had this to say over President Rodrigo Duterte’s admission he made up the bank account numbers allegedly owned by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV in Singapore as a way to supposedly catch him red-handed.
According to Abella, Duterte has his own way of thinking and game plan in exposing his foremost critic’s alleged hidden wealth.
“May kanya-kanya pong style [To each his own style]. As we very well know the President is quite unorthodox and out of the box when he deals,” the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted him as saying. “The President has his own internal logic. He has his own game plan in the way he did things.”
Abella also urged the public to see Duterte’s latest act as part of a bigger picture; saying he is also sure that the president has his sources to help him out.
“Ang pinag-uusapan po natin siguro ‘yung context nung pagkakasabi niya [What we are talking about is the context of his statement], you need to see it as a whole as a way he’s presenting, not as we see things but as a whole, you need to see the larger picture,” he said. “But I am sure he has his sources and I think we should credit him with that.”
The spokesperson added that Duterte has been nothing but transparent with his plans and actions.
“But first and foremost he comes out in the open, he does not hide it, right? In other words, he’s quite transparent about his actions,” he said.
