The Caloocan City Police arrested a 16-year-old boy during an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay 168 in Caloocan City. Seized from the boy, whose name was withheld, were a homemade shotgun and shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P25,000.

As mentioned in a GMA story dated September 7, 2017, the police said they conducted the operation after receiving information that a drug deal would take place in the said village.

Caloocan Drug Enforcement Unit head Police Chief Insp. Timothy Aniway Jr. said the boy admitted being a drug courier or runner for a certain “Edwin.” He, however, denied owning the improvised gun.

The boy said he has been working for “Edwin” for one week and is being paid P100 for every delivery he makes.

The Caloocan Police chief said a case can be filed against the boy even if he is still aminor.

“Once na umabot tayo, ang edad ng bata ng 15 yrs and 1 day at ang penalty ng offense na kanyang kinakasangkutan ay may penalty na 6 yrs and above ay puwede nang ihabla,” he said.
