The driver of a pick-up truck that hit former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Cris Bolado along National Road 7 in Tboung Khmum Province in Cambodia who escaped after the accident remains at-large.
It was Bolado’s girlfriend, Anne Christine Waje, who told GMA News Online via a Facebook interview that the driver responsible for the former PBA player’s death fled.
“Tumakas ‘yung driver nung sasakyan na nakabangga sa kanya. Sa ngayon po talaga wala pa ako balita sa suspect pero nasa mga police na ‘yung naiwang sasakyan,” Waje said.
[The driver of the vehicle that hit him (Bolado) escaped. At present, I have no information about the suspect, but the police has the abandoned vehicle.]
Waje said a Philippine Embassy representative assured her they will help in filing a case against the driver.
“Ang sabi ng Philippine Embassy representative, aasikasuhin nila ‘yon after na ng burial sa Philippines. Pagbalik ko na dito ulit,” she said.
[A Philippine Embassy representative said they will attend to it (filing of the case) after (Bolado’s) burial in the Philippines. After I return here]
Bolado will be flown back to his hometown in Lucban, Quezon for his wake.
