Joshua Garcia couldn’t stop his tears from falling when he was asked by Jolina Magdangal Friday morning on Magandang Buhay if he could remember the things he felt in their previous situation in life before entering show business.
He recounts the hardships of his father who wanted to give his family everything even when he barely has anything.
In tears, he said “Nararamdaman ko kasi ‘yung hirap na gusto niyang maibigay sa ‘min ang lahat.” [Because I can feel his hardship just to give us everything.]
One of the show’s host, Carla Estrada added that it’s normal for parents to want to give everything to their children and to let their children see their struggles. It’s not necessarily a bad thing because it makes them stronger.
At this point both Joshua and his dad were crying as he shared a story of when he used to go to school. He asked for some allowance from his dad and when his dad, Gaudencio Garcia, who’s a single parent, told him to get some from his wallet, he saw nothing but one twenty-peso bill so he didn’t bother anymore and went to school without any money.
Joshua rose to fame when he joined the most popular reality TV show in the country Pinoy Big Brother. Since then he has starred in several critically-acclaimed television series and movies including Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita, The Greatest Love, MMFF 2016 entry Vince and Kath and James and his latest movie, Love You To The Stars And Back, is still showing in cinemas.
