During a joint appearance on Britain’s “Graham Norton Show”, Adam Sandler, star of Netflix‘s “The Meyerowitz Stories”, repeatedly rested his hand on the knee of Claire Foy, star of Netflix’s “The Crown”.

While chatting with the host, the popular actor put his hand on the knee of the actress. Surprised by the gesture, Foy responded to Sandler by doing the same.

After a short silence, Sandler once again put her hand on the Golden Globe winner for best actress in 2017 for her role in the series “The Crown”. The scene caused a small laugh in the live audience but the gesture made the audience watching from home uncomfortable.

Via her spokesperson, Foy reassured her fans that she had not been offended by the 51-year-old actor.

“We don’t believe anything was intended by Adam’s gesture, and it has caused no offense to Claire,” a spokeswoman for the actress told the Daily Mail.

Sandler’s representative told the publication that the “friendly gesture” had been “blown out of proportion.”
