President Rodrigo Duterte has named the next Commanding General of the Philippines Air Force (CG, PAF) to be Lieutenant General Galileo Gerard Kintanar Jr., said Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief General Eduardo Año on Monday.
Año described Kintanar as a silent worker and a strategic thinker.
“Silent worker din ito at magaling [good,] strategic thinker at also tested ace pilot din ito ng Philippine Air Force. I believe the reforms, initiatives, and programs of the PAF started by his predecessors, particularly Lieutenant General (Edgar) Fallorino, maitutuloy niya iyan [he can continue that],” Año said.
Kintanar is a member Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1985.
The President is set to lead the change of command and retirement ceremony for Lieutenant General Edgar R. Fallorina Tuesday afternoon at the Air Force City, Clark Airbase, Mabalacat, Pampanga.
Fallorina officially bid his farewell to the men and women of Col Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City held at the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing, Fixed Wing Hangar last October 18, 2017.
Fallorina took the opportunity to join in a prepared boodle fight and mingle with Officers, HPAF Staff, Enlisted Personnel and their Civilian Employees.
