Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa on Monday commended the cops for the successful deployment during Undas.

He also said they will be doing the same during the Christmas season.

“Let me thank and congratulate the PNP members for ensuring peace and order during the commemoration of All Souls and All Saints Day nationwide last week,” Bato said during a flag ceremony.

Bato commended in particular those deployed in the vicinities of cemeteries and in terminals for making sure that the public were able to pay their respects to their departed and go to respective provinces without the fear of violence, crime, or terrorism in their hearts.

“Once more we have proven that with hard work and vigilance and with the support of the community we can always successfully keep the peace,” Bato said. “If you have observed there was no significant event that occurred during Undas because of our maximum deployment,” he added.

The PNP chief said the same will be implemented during the eve and day of Christmas and New Year (Dec24-25 and Dec31-Jan1.)

“We will do the same during the celebration of Christmas and New Year. Full alert status tayo sa Christmas eve, dapat 5 to 5, 5 p.m., December 24, up to 5 a.m., December 25; and 5 p.m., December 31 to 5 a.m., January 1 lahat tayo ay magtatrabaho, lahat tayo magdu-duty, [we (cops) will all work, we will all do our duties]” he said.

Bato also said the police personnel will be deployed where there were indiscriminate firing incidents that have been reported in the past.

“You will be deployed sa mga areas wherein talamak [abundant/chronic] ang indiscriminate firing para maiwasan ang [to avoid the] gun-related deaths and injuries,” he said.
