President Rodrigo Duterte and United States President Donald Trump have met for the first time on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vietnam on Saturday, November 11.
A photograph of the two firebrand leaders talking with each other was shared by Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go. It showed President Trump with a frown on his face while speaking to President Duterte who was wearing a slight smile.
As mentioned in Philstar, Bong Go said the meeting of the two Presidents was brief, with Trump telling Duterte, “See you tomorrow,” apparently referring to his scheduled visit in Manila for the ASEAN Summit that will be held in Clark, Pampanga from November 12 to 14.
Trump and Duterte will have a bilateral meeting scheduled on Sunday, November 12, prior to the start of the ASEAN Summit.
