Following President Rodrigo Duterte’s decision to scrap peace talks with the rebels, Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria “Joma” Sison have accused the President of lying about the latter’s intention to create a coalition government with communist rebels.
On Sison’s official website and Facebook page, he cited Philippine Daily Inquirer and ABS-CBN reports that say Duterte would seek a coalition with the CPP and MNLF if he is elected president.
He also labeled his former student, Duterte, as a “consistent political swindler and demagogue who depends heavily on lying.”
He said that under Duterte administration, the problem on drugs worsened “because his own family (Duterte’s) is involved in large-scale drug smuggling and his regime protects the biggest drug lords and protectors at the level of governors and generals…”
Sison also said that Duterte is “obsessed to establish a fascist dictatorship through charter change under the pretext of adopting a pseudo-federal system under his overcentralized despotism and terrorism.”
He also lambasted Duterte for winning the elections by allying himself with the “extremely corrupt families of the Marcoses, Arroyos, Estradas and others.”
