MANILA, Philippines  –  Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson told Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque he should also tell mainstream media to respect the views of netizens, especially the die-hard supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Galangin natin nang pareho at patas,” GMA News quoted her as saying.

[It would be better perhaps to remind not only the DDS to respect the media, but for the media to be reminded to also respect the opinion of the netizens. The media and netizens have their own opinions. Let’s respect each other equally.]

Earlier, Roque urged the DDS to recognize the role of mainstream media and not to attack journalists.

However, Uson said it’s actually the opposition who were attacking them.

Ang DDS ay may sariling pag-iisip,” she said.

[I would just like to clear it with Spox Roque that the DDS are not like the yellow trolls who are paid to make trouble and bash on social media. DDS have their own minds.]

The assistant secretary also said she did not dislike all media, just ‘garbage’ like Rappler, the Philippine Daily Inquirer and ABS-CBN.  She also claimed she targeted stories she said was fake and not the writers themselves.

[First of all is that I do not attack all media. Only a few are garbage like Rappler, Inquirer and ABS-CBN. And I do not attack them personally like what they do with me. What I attack is their FAKE NEWS.]
