Suspected BIFF members fire grenade at a school in Maguindanao

Suspected members of ISIS-linked Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) attacked a school in Barangay Buayan in Datu Piang town, Maguindanao on Saturday night, November 18, scaring residents living nearby.

As per GMA News, the investigators said the attackers used an M79 grenade launcher at the Gani L Abpi College Inc. around 8 p.m.

No one was reportedly hurt in the attack, but parts of the school’s glass windows were shattered and a car parked nearby was damaged, according to Maguindanao Police Provincial Director Senior Superintendent Agustin Tello.

The police and the military are conducting investigating the incident.
