“We already found the 36,” Mayor Sara announced, after a Mass held outside the mall.

As per an ABS-CBN story, the bodies were found on Monday, Christmas Day, by firefighters.

BFP regional director Fire Senior Superintendent Wilberto Rico Niel Kwan Tiu said they found the remains of the 36 trapped workers at the lobby of SSI call center at the fourth floor of the mall.

“I personally counted them before I gave the information to our honorable mayor. And I counted them, around 36 in number,” he said.

The remains are now at the Southern Philippines Medical Center. They are now being processed by police forensics for proper identification.
