How far would you go when your tummy tells you that you need some waffles to satisfy your late-night cravings?

Well, this man finds himself in a waffle store where all the staff were asleep; and to make the story short— yes, he had to cook for himself!

The name’s Alex Bowen, and he shared the story on Facebook; saying he went to a local waffle restaurant in Columbia to go grab some waffles because he was having a hard time catching his sleep. But as it turns out, all the employees in the restaurant were fast asleep during their shift.

Couldn't sleep so I went to waffle house….guess what…everyone on shift was asleep

Speaking with ABC News, Bowen revealed it was around 3 a.m. and he had a few drinks that day. He explained he waited at the register for 10 minutes and when no one attended to him, he decided to just do the cooking, even taking selfies while doing it! How’s that for an awesome food trip?

After making his meal to-go, he wrapped it up, observed ‘Clean as you Go’ policy; and before leaving, saw an employee still sleeping.

Bowen made clear that no one else entered the premises while he was making his order and said he went back later that day to pay for his food.

His post became an online trending issue and even reached the attention of the restaurant management who afterwards decided to take disciplinary actions, leading to a week suspension of the sleeping employee, as disclosed in an Inquirer story.

Fortunately though, he didn’t get fired. Well, you know, if it wasn’t someone as conscientious as Bowen, the store could have been in serious danger of getting robbed.
