The reigning Miss Universe, South African beauty Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, is set to visit the Philippines.
This was confirmed through a Facebook post on the Miss Universe’s page.
“It’s happening… The reigning #MissUniverse Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, #MissUniverse 2016 Iris Mittenaere and some of this year’s contestants are heading to the Philippines!” the official site wrote on Facebook on Sunday.
“They’re looking forward to the incredible hospitality of Department of Tourism – Philippines, seeing some of the 7,107 Islands, being a part of DOT’s Women Of Significance Gala Night, and the #MissUniverse Fashion Show,” it added.
Nel-Peters, 22, won the crown during the pageant night last November 27 where she competed with 92 women from all over the globe.
She received the crown from French beauty Mittenaere who won the pageant that was held in the Philippines in January this year. The crown was turned over to Mittenaere by Philippines’ very own Pia Wurtzbach.
Philippines’ bet for this year, Rachel Peters, made it to the Top 10.
