A man who shoplifted Noche Buena items from a convenient store in Pasay City was about to be forgiven by the store owner, but he did another dumb thing; he tried to run. He was caught and eventually jailed.
The man identified as Manolito C. Manabat was seen on CCTV with a backpack; checking store shelves with a basket in hand just like a regular customer.
A few moments later, he was seen without a basket anymore and his backpack looked so full.
In another angle of the CCTV, he is seen putting something inside his bag until a store crew confronted him and brought him to the authorities.
According to a video by ABS CBN News, the price of the items he has stolen amounted to almost P2,000.
Manabat said he only did it for his child; adding that he is jobless because he just got freed from jail — for the same criminal offense.
