If you haven’t done your final Christmas shopping, you better be rushing until tomorrow.
Navigation app Waze released an advisory saying that December 22 will be the worst day to drive this Christmas.
This prediction was based on data collected during the Christmas rush last year.
Aside from Metro Manila, other areas that are affecffected by heave traffic are Naga, Angeles, Bacolod, Batangas, Iligan, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, Davao City, General Santos and Zamboanga City.
Meanwhile, Waze also specified the following times as the worst periods to drive during the holidays:
- December 22 4 – 6 PM
- December 23 4 – 6 PM
- December 24 2- 4 PM
- December 25 4 – 6 PM
- December 26 4 – 6 PM
- December 27 4 – 6 PM
- December 28 4 – 6 PM
- December 29 4 – 6 PM
- December 30 4 – 6 PM
- January 1 4 – 6 PM
- January 2 1 – 3 PM
“If you have plans to go through these areas, best schedule hitting the road earlier than usual or just go somewhere else to celebrate,” Waze was warned in a story by PhilStar.
According to the same item, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority warned that there is an expected Christmas rush with over 400,000 vehicles plying through EDSA.
Given the Christmas shopping and get togethers, an additional 56,000 vehicles are also estimated to conquer the road.
