The city government of Tacloban received 6 buses that were given by a company for the continued recovery of the city from the devastating effects of Typhoon Yolanda years ago.
The six units buses were earlier commissioned by the National Government to provide free transport service from various relocation sites and residents living in the Tacloban North Resettlement Sites. However, the bus owner, Vallacar Transit Inc., have donated the buses to the City Government on Sunday, December 10.
Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Diño led the turnover ceremonies.
Also present during the ceremonies were Regional Development Council 7 Co-Chair Kenneth Cobonpue, Vallacar Transit Cebu North Branch Manager Engr. Gilbert Polancos, Kenneth Lim and Raymund Tiu.
Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez thanked the generosity of Vallacar Transit and acknowledged the invaluable support of the national government to the rehabilitation and recovery of the City after Typhoon Yolanda.
More than 7,000 were killed while 4 million houses were destroyed when Yolanda hit Visayas four years ago.
