Almost two decades ago, Cardcaptor Sakura was one of the best cartoon series for girls. If you were one of the girls who adores Sakura and her magical cards so much, then this is good news.
On Facebook, Crunchyroll announced that the Season 2 of the series will come out next year.
“Coming to Crunchyroll this January – Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card!” read the caption of the season’s trailer.
Cardcaptor Sakura is a Japanese shojo manga series written and illustrated by the manga group Clamp. Its story focuses on Sakura Kinomoto, an elementary school student who discovers that she possesses magical powers after accidentally freeing a set of magical cards from the book they had been sealed in for years. Sakura has been tasked to retrieve the cards to avoid an unknown catastrophe from befalling the world.
The manga’s 70-episode anime television series by Madhouse was aired on Japan’s satellite television channel NHK BS2 from April 1998 to March 2000.
The manga’s sequel, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, began serialization in Nakayoshi with the July 2016 issue. Here, the elementary pupil Sakura is already a middle school student.
