DOJ Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II confirmed Ricardo “Dickie” Paras’ death at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, but did not mention the cause of death.
“We mourn the sudden demise of CSC Ricardo “Dickie” Paras III this morning… we ask the pious members of the DOJ family to pray for the eternal repose of his soul,” Aguirre said.
According to the DOJ’s Facebook post, Dickie Paras served the DOJ and the Filipino people with distinction and integrity.
He is also a valued ally in the pursuit of the reform-oriented objectives of Pres. Duterte and Aguirre.
Government prosecutors and his colleagues saw Dickie as “well-mannered, soft-spoken, but intellectually the sharpest in the DOJ toolbox.”
One of his relatives, Eugene Conti Paras, said Dickie will be cremated this Sunday, January 21 at 2 pm. Viewing starts at 7:30 pm at Chapels 8, 9 and 10, Heritage Park, Taguig.
