GMA Network released its upcoming shows this year during the network’s New Year special and among the soap announced was The Cure — a TV project that was rumored to have been first offered to Alden Richards and Louise delos Reyes.

According to a PEP story, there were rumors in 2013 that a show entitled The Cure will be led by Alden and Louise, but it didn’t push through as the management decided to give them Mundo Mo’y Akin.

The Cure narrates the story of a group of people trying to find a solution after zombies infested their town.

Presently, however, Alden and Louise are no longer a love team. The actor has been teamed up with Maine Mendoza and had their phenomenal success with Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye — their love team being tagged as AlDub; while Louise has transferred to another network.

As of posting, GMA Network hasn’t released an official cast for the series.

Aside from The Cure, other upcoming soaps announced during the celebration were La Soltera, Isang Libo’t Isang Gabi, Close To You, Life After Death, To Love Again, Mitho, Sanggang Dikit, Sirkus, Karibal Ko Ang Aking Ina, and Ganti.

The Kapuso Channel, formerly, announced five: The One That Got Away, Sherlock Jr., Contessa, The Stepdaughters, and Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka on their shows in 2018.
