- Six PNP-SAF commandos, all with rank PO2 and members of the 33rd Special Action Company of the Third Special Action Battalion were ambushed and wounded Sunday morning

Six Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) commandos were wounded when an undetermined number of suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels ambushed them in Antipolo, Rizal Sunday morning.
Rizal Provincial Police Office public information office Senior Inspector Cherrylyn Agtarap identified the wounded personnel who are all Police Officers 2 (PO2) as:
- Brendo Cariño
- Reymar Guevarra
- Mark Andrew y Bwela
- Joseph Alberca
- Ryan Gonzales
- Gran Huminis
All six are members of the PNP-SAF 33rd Special Action Company of the Third Special Action Battalion.
Aboard two police cars, the SAF commandos were on their way to their SAF detachment in Sitio Canumay in Barangay San Jose. But while they were traveling along Sitio San Jose, between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., suspected rebels appeared and sprayed them with bullets.
The six cops sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of the body and were rushed to the Rizal Provincial Hospital and Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Marikina City.
Several members of the PNP-SAF ran after the suspects who immediately fled.
The SAF have already launched counterattacks to determine the identity and whereabouts of the suspects who ambushed their comrades.
