National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde said on Sunday that police officers should improve their service to match the increase in their base pay.
“Kailangan naman siguro nating suklian ng pagseserbisyo ‘yung pag-doble ng ating sweldo. Wala na po kaming rason para ma-low morale pa,” he said in an interview on GMA’s Super Radyo dzBB. [I think we should repay with good service the doubling of our salary. We have no more reason to have low morale].
Police, soldiers, and other uniformed personnel have already received their paychecks with increase in their base pay this year.
Recently, local police officers were said to have had low morale following on-the-spot inspections in which several were caught drinking alcohol and sleeping on duty.
