The body of an 11-year-old victim was already burned and lifeless when he was found inside his burned house at Barangay Oras, Tabaco, Albay on Thursday night.

The boy was supposed to graduate from elementary next month.

Based on the investigation conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP,) the victim was asleep and alone in the house when the fire started.

BFP said that it was already “fire-out” when they arrived at the scene because the residents helped in putting out the fire. But the residents didn’t know there’s someone still inside.

A candle on a plastic bowl is speculated to be the main cause of fire. The victim’s father admitted he left his son at the house that night.

The victim’s sibling, also a minor, also left their house that night to watch a barangay basketball game.

The victim’s mother and father are already separated more than a year ago.
