A member of a rob gang preying on Indian nationals engaged in moneylending business was nabbed by authorities in Manila.
As mentioned in a Journal Online story dated March 26, 2018, Supt. Olivia Sagaysay, chief of Manila Police District-Station 6, identified the suspect as 36-year-old Antonio Carayacay of 1661 Estrada Street, San Andres Bukid, Manila.
Carayacay is said to be a member of the notorious street gang called “Bahala na Gang.”
The suspect was arrested after his victim, 24-year-old Nachatter Singh, a resident of Sta. Mesa, Manila, reported to Manila Police District Station 6 that Carayacay robbed him of cash and his high-end cellphone along Estrada Street as he was collecting debt payments from his clients.
Carayacay was arrested by police along Estrade Street while he was apparently awaiting for his next victim. Seized from him were a knife, live ammunition and a sachet of suspected shabu. He will be charged with robbery-holdup and violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Prior to his arrest, Carayacay’s gang mates – Raymond Dulot, 30, and Christian Martin, 18, both of San Andres Bukid – have also been arrested for robbing another Indian national.
