Two BIFF members were killed and two others were wounded in a series of “focused military operations” against the rebel group in Maguindanao since April 9.
Spokesman for the 6th Infantry Division Captain Arvin Encinas said on Wednesday that the identities of the casualties are still being verified.
Capt. Encinas added that troops from the Second Mechanized Infantry Battalion also seized assorted high-powered and regular firearms during the operations.
The main targets of the military operations were BIFF members under the Bungos faction operating in Barangays Pagatin and Pamalian in Saydona Mustapha town.
On the same series of military operations, 2 government soldiers were also wounded. The authorities did not disclose the names of the wounded and said they only suffered minor injuries.
Joint Task Force Central (JTFC) commander Major General Arnel dela Vega meanwhile said that pursuit operations against terror groups such as BIFF will continue.
