Lito Lapid might once again run for a seat in the Senate in the next election. Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III revealed that they are urging the former Senator to be part of the senatorial lineup of the Nationalist People’s Coalition.
Sotto was quoted by GMA saying, “Lito Lapid is one of those we are considering … he is considering it also.”
Sotto added that Lapid initially had no plans to run again but “he is considering it now, that will be the safest statement, Lito is considering it, seriously considering running again.” Sotto also confirmed that the decision to invite Lapid was agreed upon by Senators Panfilo Lacson and Gringo Honasan.
Lito Lapid served two terms in the senate from 2004 to 2016. His name was included in the recent Pulse survey’s top 15 senatorial bets.
