Only a few knew that Ashley Ortega is not only an actress but also an ice skater.
The Kapuso star bagged gold medals during the Skate Philippines Summer Championships 2018 held at the Mall of Asia’s Skating Rink last Tuesday, May 29.
The very talented young lady won 3 gold medals in all three categories — Interpretative, Artistic, and Spotlight — plus a special award, Most Artistic.
In her interview with 24 Oras she revealed that she began skating at the age of four then stopped when she turned 11.
The 19-year-old athlete eventually became part of the Philippine team to compete internationally but stopped when she embraced showbiz in 2012.
This time, she’s happy that she’s back to her thing.
“It feels great. I feel pressured, siyempre andun pa rin yung kaba. I’m nervous. Kasi I feel like hindi ko na magagawa ulit yung mga jumps and spins ko before, but I’m taking it slowly but surely,” she said.

She also took the chance to thank those who greeted and supported her.
