International action superstar Jet Li has finally spoken up after the viral photo circulated recently on social media fueled rumors of his deteriorating health and caused concern among his legions of fans around the world.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the popular martial arts enthusiast assured his fans that he is doing great and feeling well.

“I would like to thank all my fans who expressed concerns about my health. I’m doing great and feeling great!” Li wrote on his Facebook update.

The 55-year-old actor also said he would like to share some of the projects he is currently working on.

“I’m excited to share with you all a few projects I am working on in the near future. For now, thank you all for your concerns!” he added.

Early this week, photos of the hardly recognizable Jet Li went viral on social media and scared netizens. He looked old and weak; a far cry from his boyish looks which endeared him to his millions of fans.

The pictures were supposedly taken in Tibet recently. It showed Li being assisted by another man while on a visit to a temple.

Li’s manager, Steven Chasman, released a statement to the Washington Post to quash the rumors on Li’s failing health; saying it was just “a bad photo of a 55-year-old man”.

Li was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 2010. The disease caused the actor’s fluctuating weight and he was advised by doctors against exercising.

The actor subsequently assured the public he’s doing well and has since recovered from hyperthyroidism.

“He has hyperthyroidism that he’s been dealing with for almost 10 years. It’s nothing life-threatening and he’s dealing with it. He’s all well and good,” said Chasman.
