Kapamilya host Karla Estrada showed her confidence when she wore a swimsuit for the TV show “Magandang Buhay” in Bohol.

On Tuesday, with co-host Melai Cantiveros, Karla said that people should not be ashamed with what body type they have.

“Gusto nating sabihin sa lahat na lahat ay may karapatang mag-swimsuit, especially sa beach,” Karla said.

[I’d like to say that everyone has the right to wear a swimsuit, especially at the beach.]

“Kung ini-enjoy mo ang buhay mo, at mahal mo ang body mo, eh mag-swimsuit ka na,” she added.

[If you enjoy your life, and you love your body, then go wear a swimsuit.

When asked about the issue of body-shaming, Karla disagreed.

She said that although some people call “plus-sized” people as lazy persons, Karla stressed that she has been working for almost 24 hours a day for 28 years. “Binuhay ko ang apat ko na anak dahil ako ay masipag kahit ako ay mataba,” she said. [I took care of my four children because I’m not lazy even if I’m fat.]

In the end, Karla gave a message for all the mothers like her who are plus-sized.

She said that what’s important is to never listen to whatever anyone has to say and love yourself.
