- Bea Alonza has adopted a Pescatarian diet
- It means, she has avoided eating beef, pork, or even chicken
- She said it’s because she does not support the farming of cows and pigs
One of the secrets to Bea Alonzo’s fit physique is because she has adopted the Pescatarian diet.
The Kapamilya star has avoided eating meat for more than a year now but shared that it is “more than just for slimming down.” Bea told Pep, “One year and six months na no beef, pork, or even chicken.”
According to Healthline, a “pescatarian” is someone who chooses to eat a vegetarian diet, but who also eats fish and other seafood.
Bea continued, “Kasi marami namang ‘di naniniwala sa pinaniniwalaan ko. Hindi naman siya actually for slimming down. I did that because I watched [documentaries] that don’t condone eating meat.” [There are many who don’t believe in what I believe in.]
The Kasal star explained, “But ‘yun na nga, ayoko na rin i-support yung farming ng cows and pigs. That’s the reason why I became a pescatarian.” [I don’t want to support farming of cows and pigs.]
The 30-year-old actress admitted that her body benefited greatly with the diet but she still manages to exercise. She said, “You can’t cut corners when trying to lose weight. Talagang nag-exercise ako.”
Bea’s care for animals extends to her cute little Maltese dog named Walter. She went on to say on Instragam, “I can’t wait to get on this journey with him for I have not experienced this kind of love before… love for animals. I know I will learn a lot from this journey.”
