- The People’s Champ said he feels blessed as the strategy of his trainer is very effective
Buboy Fernandez, the new coach of boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, expressed sentiments to his critics who questioned and doubted his credibility in taking over the Pambansang Kamao’s training.
[To those who lost their trust on me being a Filipino coach, to those who doubted my credibility, to those who told me those words, to those who questioned what I know about boxing, all of you inspired me to be stronger and provide the proper conditioning to our fighting senator.]
Moreover, the coach could be seen very emotional, in the video shared by actor KC Montero on Instagram, where he knelt on the corner after his trainee’s sterling victory via knocking down Lucas Matthyse, Sunday, at the Axiata Arena.
Pacquiao said he feels blessed as the strategy of his trainer is very effective.
The fighting senator gave credit to Fernandez, who took over the coaching rein from Freddie Roach, for his effective training strategy.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao’s conditioning coach Justin Fortune said as per a Rappler story: “We changed things up this time, we did a whole bunch of different work. We were shocking his system back into working. It’s a different style of training – shorter, faster and more intense. So his body reacts differently. So that’s why he looks like the old Pacquiao.”
