The huge billboard of Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) has been taken down by his supporters.
Apparently, SAP Go’s supporters who were urging him to run for the Senate in the coming mid-term elections next year were the ones who put up the billboard. The billboard drew criticisms from some members of the public. This includes actress Agot Isidro who posted a picture of the billboard on her Twitter account.
One of SAP Go’s supporters who put up the billboard said they took it down as a show of respect to his request, as per a Remate story.
Christine Yu, the SAP’s supporter who put up the billboard along NLEX near the Candaba viaduct, said via a statement released to the media, that she will instead use her personal funds to help the less fortunate ones. She explained that the billboard was to show that she believes in Go’s abilities.
Another supporter of Go who put up five big billboards and tarpaulins along the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) surfaced but refused to be named said he will also take the controversial tarps down. He explained that he used his personal money and insisted that he just exercised his right of expression.
