President Rodrigo Duterte went online via a live Facebook video, August 20, to dispel the rumor from Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) leader Jose Maria Season that he is in a coma, as posted by GMA News.

The video went live at around 8:30 PM through Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go’s Facebook page; showing Duterte having dinner with a girl named Berniece.

Philippine News Agency quoted the president saying in the video, “Okay pa naman ako. Sabi nila comatose. How can you be comatose with a beautiful lady? Kung comatose ako, makita ko si Bernice, talagang babangon ako.”

[O am ok. They say I’m comatose. How can you be comatose with a beautiful lady? If I am comatose, just to see Bernice, I’ll wake up.]

The country’s chief executive further stated he’s alive, fairly healthy, and having dinner with the beautiful girl from Harvard.

Duterte addressed the communist leader together with those who publicly claimed he’s in a coma by saying he wishes them to live a thousand more years even if ‘they have no use in this life.’

He said Sison is the one who’s suffering from a serious ailment and that he was abusing the hospitality of the Netherlands for being in and out of the medical facility without paying anything.

To note, Sison has been living in the Netherlands since his exile after the Marcos regime.

The communist leader has earlier claimed via a Facebook post that Duterte is in a coma; also stating that those who saw him during the national convention of the fraternity Lex Talionis Fraternitas on Saturday “reported that the darkness of his face had become aggravated from its appearance the other day and that his walk and handshake had become more unstable.”
