The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) recently cited the Maguindanao Electric Cooperative (MAGELCO) for its capital projects and best practices.
Since putting up the first electric pole in Maguindanao more than four decades ago, the MAGELCO has made long strides in its mission to spark the growth and development of the province, as mentioned in TransMissions, the official newsletter of the NGCP.
The publication cited further that among the projects in their service area are the installation of a 10 MVA substation in Poblacion Ampatuan, the rehabilitation of power lines across the province, and the construction of a power plant and additional distribution lines at Bongo Island in Parang, Maguindanao.
MAGELCO General Manager Ashary Maongco was cited for upgrading the province’s 69 kv lines from wood poles to steel poles and the timely meetings with stakeholders in helping their operations, and in uplifting the lives of local residents, according to NGCP’s editorial team led by Cynthia Alabanza.
Sultan Ashary Maongco said that the electric cooperative continues to pursue improvement and expansion activities that will feed the growing demand for electricity in Maguindanao.
