Nothing should stop you from pursuing your dreams — not even d
isab ilities. A group of differently-abled dancers has been creating inspiration worldwide for more than a decade now.
Amazing dance group “
Ill Abilities”, an international breakdance crew, is composed of dancers from around the world: Luca “Lazylegz” Patuelli (Canada), Tommy “Guns” Ly (U.S.A), Jacob “Kujo” Lyons (U.S.A), Redouan “Redo” Ait Chitt (The Netherlands), Sergio “Checho” Carvajal (Chile), Jung Soo “Krops” Lee (South Korea), Samuel Henrique “Samuka” da Silveira Lima (Brazil), and Lucas “Perninha” Machado (Brazil).
“Created in the summer of 2007 by Montreal-based dancer/motivational speaker Patuelli, Ill Abilities is an all-star team of differently-abled dancers whose goal was to compete in the breakdance competition circuit, showing the world that anything is possible,” according to the group’s website.
The “ill” in “Ill Abilities” does not refer to “s
ick” or “unw ell” but rather to “incredible”, “amazing”, “intricate”, and “talent”.
“Rather than seeing the negative limitations of ‘disability’, this crew focuses on their positive, or ‘Ill’, abilities,” it was noted. “Once they started performing together, the dancers of Ill Abilities quickly realized their potential to inspire the audience with their positive attitude and unique dance moves so they expanded their goal.”
