“The General’s Daughter” actress Angel Locsin has expressed support to the young environmental
activi st Greta Thunberg.
On Instagram, Angel regrammed CNN’s video clip from Greta’s speech at the UN Climate Action Summit.
“How dare us not do something about #climatecri
si s,” Angel wrote on the caption. “I hear you, @gretathunberg.”
Days after millions of young people around the world took to the streets to protest for more aggressive action on climate change, Greta talked onstage in front of world leaders; in which she repeated the words “how d
ar e you” four times.
“My message is that we’ll be watching you. This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean. Yet you all come to us young people for hope. You have s
t0l en my dreams and my childhood with your empty words,” she said while full of emotions.
The 16-year-old climate activi
st ended her speech by saying, “The eyes of all future generations are upon you. And if you choose to f ail us, I say: we will never forgive you. We will not let you get away with this. Right here, right now is where we draw the line. The world is waking up. And change is coming, whether you like it or not.”
In August 2018, Greta sat outside the Swedish parliament with a sign reading “school str
ik e for climate”.
