- Alex Gonzaga’s Instagram and YouTube accounts were pen
etrated by cyber invaders who were believed to be from the US
- Her fans suspected unusual changes in her accounts and are now relieved she recovered them right away
- This event also recalled Kris Bernal’s emotional experience when she lost control of her accounts to Turkish cyber punks who even asked for some amount in exchange
It seems that artists who are also active very on social media are currently the target of bad people these days and Alex Gonzaga is no exemption. The top YouTube vlogger among TV stars has just recently been a vic
tim of this unfortunate event.
“My profile pic is back!!!! We’re still trying to manage my youtube account because the h
ack er is now trying to get into my ads. Thank you to everyone who kept messaging me and asking if my account is ok. I appreciate it!” she announced on her Instagram account.
Prior to this, netizens noticed some unusual activities on her Instagram account and that helped in notifying her the soonest.
“Omg kaya pala may parang video na jejemon ang caption. Tsk tsk.”
“Kaya nga ate @cathygonzaga nagtaka ako kung bakit wala ka profile pic kala ko magpapalit ka lang huhu”
“Kaya pala can’t able to watch your new blog…kala ko ni remove..excited pa naman ako palagi sa blog mo..from EU.”
Alex revealed that the culprits are from the US. Her very big online fan base may have been very attractive to catch the perpetrators’ attention. On Instagram, she currently has 7.4M followers and more than 4.5M subscribers on YouTube; making her a successful social media influencer. She was currently featured on Rated K for her story on how she started vlogging. And her latest upload on YouTube was an office raid of ABS-CBN’s big boss Ms. Charo Santos. You can only imagine her non-stop hype.
This incident also made netizens look back on the same incident involving Kris Bernal’s social media accounts last September 22. Cyber inv
aders from Turkey asked for $750 (PhP38,768). But with the help of GMA social media team and some experts, she regained her Instagram and email accounts.
