Teaser

Dr. Ong, a cardiologist and internist, posted some teasers on Facebook. He said that filming is in progress and slated for release next year.
He started the post with a hashtag and then proceeded with his message in the vernacular:
#DocWillieTheMovie actors: Heto na sila! Kamukha ba [Here they are! Do we look like them?]?- Dr. Willie Tan Ong
Two pictures accompany the post: the first one is him and his wife, Liza, who’s also a doctor, taken in 1993; the second one, that of actors Hero Angeles and Raechelle Ricketts.
They were placed side by side, that’s why Dr. Ong was asking if they (he and his wife) happen to look like the two actors who will portray them in the movie.
He enumerated the cast and their respective roles:

Hope And Inspiration

Dr. Ong emphasized the film’s objective, which is to inspire people, particularly those who feel hopeless in overcoming life’s challenges.
He said:
Layunin ng movie ay magbigay ng inspiration sa mga depressed (tulad ko dati) at nawawalan ng pag-asa sa buhay [The goal of the movie is to give inspiration to those who are depressed (like me before) and losing hope in life.].- Dr. Willie T. Ong
Dr. Ong is known to discuss medical conditions and dispense free medical advice via social media. He likewise gives advice about life in general. As of writing, his Facebook Page has 11 million followers.

All For Charity

Not only do the couple want to encourage people to become steadfast in life through the film, they also want to extend help to the underprivileged ones, especially those who are sick.
As Dr. Ong stated:
Lahat ng kikitain namin sa movie ay itutulong . . . kung papalarin ng Diyos ay makaka-raise tayo ng funds [All proceeds from the movie will be used for giving help . . . if God wills, we can raise funds.].- Dr. Willie T. Ong
The kind doctor added:
Lahat ng paghihirap at pagsubok ko ay ilalabas natin para matuto ang iba sa istorya. Walang pa-pogi. Salamat sa Diyos sa pag-gabay sa atin. [All the hardships and trials I had I’ll share in the movie for other people to learn from my story. No pretensions. Thank God for guiding us.].- Dr. Willie T. Ong
Dr. Ong thanked Commissioner Aurelio “Reli” de Leon of the Philippine Racing Commission (Philracom) for producing the movie.
The movie will also enlighten the public about the sources of the deep-seated emotions of the doctor, who has been doing charitable works for the past 25 years.
Now that it’s clear that the Doc Williemovie proceeds will go to the poor and the sick, may it become a box-office hit.
