- Louis Vuitton sent Regine Velasquez flowers in response to her unhappy story while buying shoes in their brand’s store in New York
- Asia’s songbird, who is a lover of luxury shoes shared again her story at “Tonight with Boy Abunda.”
- Sharon Cuneta, also present in the show, has the same inequality experience at Cartier boutique in Hong Kong
“Tonight with Boy Abunda” program disclosed that Regine Velasquez had received flowers from theFrench fashion house and luxury retail company Louis Vuitton. This happened days after her unfortunate shoe shopping experience in New York became sensational. It was not stated, though, if a letter of apology was included.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Regine Velasquez was able to talk again about that incident, which she revealed in her walk-in closet vlog. Asia’s Song Bird has a passion for luxury designer shoes, which includes Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, and Chanel. But alongside showing those extraordinary designs was one memorable story.
“Pintuan pa lang, hindi na ako pinapasok. Sabi niya, ‘No, I don’t think we have your size. At saka nakaharang talaga siya doon,” the singer narrated. She asked if she can try them on, but she was not allowed.
She continued that it was okay if he didn’t want to entertain her. She can find someone else to accommodate her, buy those shoes, and show that other guy as a comeback.
So instead of forcing herself in, she went to Neiman Marcus, which was just nearby. But again, it took her time to get noticed since everyone in the store seemed busy until finally, somebody reached out to her. Feeling a little disappointed from the previous luxury store, the singer ended buying 20 pairs, which made the salesman happy.
She went back to Lous Vuitton carrying those bags and was finally able to buy the shoes she was looking for.
Sharon Cuneta, who was also present during the interview, shared her own same experience in the Hong Kong boutique of Cartier.
“[My outfit] was very simple, shirt lang and jeans. I said, ‘Excuse me.’ ‘I’m not finished yet!’ I was so angry, there was another sales rep who was very nice, and I ended up buying things I didn’t really need because I was so angry,” she told Boy.
This means to say that even our biggest stars are not exempted from this type of inequality.
